Recognizing the financial challenges, Concordia offers generous scholarships to international students:
- International Excellence Scholarships: Merit-based up to $12,000 per year — based on the strength of the academic record.
- You Are Welcome Here scholarship: Two renewable scholarships available annually that cover at least 50% of tuition for students committed to advancing intercultural learning and understanding. This is not a fully funded scholarship and applicants must show evidence of the ability to pay between $24,000 and $33,000 per annum.
- Talent Awards: Further awards for students who display excellence in the areas of visual arts, music, theatre and speech and debate. These awards require separate applications.
They can also work part-time on campus 20 hours a week, allowing them to earn about $3,600 per year to support their personal expenses.
Application Process for International Students
- Concordia College has simplified the process for international students to apply:
- Start the Application: Submit a free application through the Concordia Portal or the Common App.
- Academic Transcripts: High school transcripts and relevant academic documentation.
- English Ability: Show evidence of English proficiency; a minimum of 71 on the TOEFL, or 6.0 on the IELTS.
- International Student Financial Affidavit (ISFA): Fill out and submit the ISFA to show that you can afford to study.
These optional components consist of letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and standardized test scores (ACT or SAT).
Important Application Deadlines
November 15: International Application First Priority Date Scholarship assistance of an additional $500 per year for applications submitted by this date. In early December, you may also be invited to participate in a Concordia Scholarship Interview, where additional financial assistance can be awarded.
January 15: International 2nd Priority Application Deadline Applications received by this date are also eligible for an additional $500 a year in scholarship assistance and may receive invitations to an in-person track scholarship interview in February.
Proof of Financial Support
International students must provide evidence of adequate financial support before Concordia will issue an I-20 form. Welcomed papers would be confirmed bank statements and parent salary declarations indicating a capacity of covering in any event $26,000 USD every year.
